FREMONT, CA : VinFast unveiled three brand new self-driving electric SUV models on 22 January 2021, using AI with several exceptional smart features. This is a significant achievement that affirms the vision of becoming a global company for smart electric vehicles and leads to bringing Vietnam to a new level on the automotive industry's world map.
VinFast has successfully researched and built the first three self-driving electric cars after three years of service with this strategic direction: VF31, VF32, and VF33. All three SUVs are multi-purpose vehicles with a powerful and innovative high-chassis configuration, skilled with steering, and self-driving assistance, fitted with outstanding protection and intelligence features.
VF31 is a mid-size SUV/C segment with essential self-driving and steering assistance functions like lane departure warning, blind-spot alert, vehicle cross-section alert when reversing, and vehicle alert opening from behind. It even has a 360 camera, front-back parking assist sensor, automatic headlight, door, and reverse camera.
Self-driving level 2-3 of VF32 (mid-size SUV/D-segment) and VF33 (full-size SUV/E-segment) with 30 intelligent features divided into seven classes include: driver assistance, lane control, speed control, scene collision warning and mitigation, parking assistance, and driver monitoring. It is one of the first vehicles in the world to achieve autopilot level 3 capability, confirming the R&D potential of VinFast and the capacity to deploy high-class, pioneering goods.
In order to ensure safety, all three models follow the highest safety requirements in the world, like NHTSA 5*, Euro NCAP 5* with automated medical center detection, alarm, and warning systems when users have an accident. Under the vehicle floor, the batteries are arranged with a heat resistance of 40 0 C to 80 0 C to ensure total safety while driving. Furthermore, all vehicles have automatic updating and fault detection applications and communication with service stations, respectively.
It is anticipated that the VF31 car will begin receiving orders in Vietnam in May 2021 and will be handed over to customers in November 2021. Orders will be issued by VF32 and VF33 in Vietnam from September 2021 and handed over from February 2022. VinFast will collect orders in the US and Canadian European markets from November 2021 and hand them over from June 2022.
