This new interface makes it easier to upgrade TecDoc data in real-time, increasing flexibility, and minimizing the market time for data providers and receivers. The IDP will be available in early 2021.
FREMONT, CA: The automobile aftermarket is a highly dynamic and fast-moving market. To be competitive under these circumstances, suppliers of parts must first position the market to ensure that the most up-to-date and reliable product data is available. TecAlliance, one of the leading digital aftermarket data experts, is revolutionizing commodity data management with Instant Data Analysis (IDP). This new interface makes it easier to upgrade TecDoc data in real-time, increasing flexibility, and minimizing the market time for data providers and receivers. The IDP will be available in early 2021.
To date, TecAlliance data providers have been bound by a tight timetable for upgrading the TecDoc Catalog Database. Besides, they had to deliver the entire data collection except with a single minor update, which made the task of upgrading difficult and time-consuming. Data processing was only available with the TecAlliance Data Management Tools (DMM or CCU), which required data providers using other product management systems to export data from that system to the TecAlliance platform for each upgrade.
Worldwide Updates Within Seconds
With IDP, TecAlliance has created an API interface that allows migration to the TecDoc database quicker and more versatile. Parts Manufacturers can upgrade their catalog data within seconds and at any time. For small changes, what they need to do is give the net changes.
The IDP functionality is used in the DMM and CCU data management software. It is also available as a stand-alone API interface for third-party PIM application customers, reducing time-consuming and error-prone export and import procedures. Within seconds, all data transmitted via IDP will be merged and published in the TecDoc Catalog, one of the world's leading spare part catalogs, and made accessible worldwide via WebService, Data Packages, and Web Shops.
IDP also provides new ways for data receivers of TecDoc to benefit from the acceleration. When IDP is implemented into their systems, all data notifications will be obtained simultaneously as on the TecDoc network. Data receivers still have the power of the data to determine whether they choose to post notifications in their own development environment.
The Revolution Begins
The IDP interface of TecAlliances enables all players in the international automotive aftermarket to always work with the latest and most accurate data. Instant Data Collection lets consumers save time in data management, reduce time on the market, and concentrate on their primary business of selling parts. The first pilot projects to test the interface will begin shortly.
