Panasonic's membership in CEBA advances the company's environmental sustainability journey, which began in January with the worldwide program GREEN IMPACT.

Fremont, CA: Business sustainability is running a business without harming the environment. A green business works in the best interests of the local and global environment, which means it benefits the communities and economies that rely on a healthy planet. An environmentally responsible firm considers more than just profits; it also considers social and environmental consequences. Such a firm is sustainable because it serves the health of the structure in which it functions, assisting in creating an environment conducive to its success.

Panasonic recently joined the Clean Energy Buyers Association (CEBA) as part of its increasing focus on clean energy projects and to promote its environmental sustainability goals in North America and across the globe. Panasonic joins the worldwide coalition of peer companies, energy developers, and service providers to open up the market for energy consumers and accelerate the transition to a carbon-free energy future.

"Panasonic is proud to join CEBA, as we work to incorporate renewables, energy efficiency, and other innovative tools to reduce the carbon footprint of our operations," said Jeff Werner, Vice President, Corporate & Government Affairs, Panasonic Corporation of North America. "We look forward to leveraging CEBA's expertise as we continue on our journey to reach our 2030 and 2050 decarbonization goals."

Panasonic introduced its GREEN IMPACT business program on April 1st, intending to create a worldwide impact that cuts CO2 emissions by more than 300 million tons, or about 1percent of total global emissions of 33 billion tons2, by 2050. Panasonic's long-term environmental vision focuses on four goals:

○ Reducing emissions in the value chain, such as lighting, air conditioning, and ventilation.

○ Avoiding emissions for customers in established business areas such as automotive batteries, supply chain software, and air quality.

○ Developing new technologies and solutions, such as hydrogen devices.

○ Uses 100 percent renewable energy throughout its operations.

As a member of CEBA, Panasonic gains access to a variety of resources to help it on its path to environmental sustainability, such as educational materials for all employees, collaboration on innovative solutions, exclusive events, and the opportunity to share and amplify the company's market leadership throughout the industry
