The advance interface system will speak the future of driving, unlike the system of other cars; it is easy to control and needs less focus to adjust the gauges.
FREMONT, CA: In the future, the interface system will lead the automobile driving to be smooth. A sound interface system will control and direct the driving more fluidly withautonomous driving features. Now the people could focus more on other tasks like drinking tea etc.
In a recent development in one of the test Mercedes-AMG CLS 53, two Touch Control buttons, made driving more pleasurable. The person who was driving was able to quickly move the left thumb over to the ‘magic’ button on their left to control the gauge cluster and could use the right thumb to tap and scroll through menus for the main center console. It is more like using an Apple iPad with your thumbs. For this new interface design, the most critical thing is the reference point used and how the interface is controlled. It is very confusing and hard to use a poorly designed interface because it requires several unnatural actions.
According to the emerging advanced technologies, in the next 20-30 years, the automobile industry will rely on interfaces to control all driving processes. Most probably, cars will need an iPad rather than the steering wheel, brakes, or an accelerator.
In the CLS 53, the thumb controls are appreciable and controllable, and it feels natural, prominent, and well positioned. Mercedes has presented a more natural way to control the main gauge display. One can easily control the left-most display by swiping left and can scroll through the menus by swiping up and down. The interface control system on some cars is so hasty and jerky, and the cursor will jump around from one setting to other rapidly. Nevertheless, here the system is smooth to handle, by sliding the touch-sensitive button; the operator gets full control over the cursor speed.
When the interface is more fluid, the people on the driving seat are less distracted and can enjoy driving. Unlike other cars system, this system requires less time and focus on adjusting gauges.
