The two firms collaborate to develop a unique silicone leather for the demanding automotive interior environment, used to upholster the seats on the HiPhi X, offering customers a more comfortable and environmentally friendly experience.

FREMONT, CA: Human Horizons, one of the top innovative mobility and intelligent technology firm, has revealed their latest discovery, developed in collaboration with internationally recognized materials science company Dow, to be used in the world's first evolvable super SUV, HiPhi X. The two firms collaborated to develop a unique silicone leather for the demanding automotive interior environment, used to upholster the seats on the HiPhi X, offering customers a more comfortable and environmentally friendly experience.

As a global pioneer in silicone leather technology, Dow has discovered that the unique molecular structure of silicone fulfills the consumer demands for leather in terms of softness, moisture permeability, stability, and environmental friendliness after years of exploration and study. Dow has opted to produce a breakthrough new synthetic leather product using a unique liquid silicone rubber technology based on a deep understanding of silicone technology and in-depth study into the leather market.

Dow uses cutting-edge liquid silicone rubber technology to give stain resistance, a soft touch feels, and excellent weatherability. The unscented and low volatile organic compounds (VOC) safer materials utilized will protect consumers' health and contribute to sustainability. This ground-breaking silicone leather product can be used in industries with more rigorous material requirements, such as automotive, yachts, aviation, medical science, furniture, and children's rooms.

In 2018, Human Horizons and Dow partnered on a cross-value-chain collaboration approach. Before the new silicone leather, the two firms collaborated on 12 other products, six of which are included in the HiPhi X. TC thermal-conductive interface material is a game-changing solution for battery pack safety, longevity, and sustainability. At the same time, all-new BETAFOAM Acoustic Foams for the car interior ensure exceptional Noise, Vibrations, and Harshness (NVH) in the cabin.

With its unique intelligent H-SOA electric architecture, the world's first evolvable super SUV, the HiPhi X, is leading the industry by merging complex technology into a premium mass-market vehicle. The HiPhi X is founded on three fundamental principles: design defined by scenarios, a vehicle defined by software, and value defined by co-creation. The HiPhi X blurs the border between technology and luxury to create a new sector of cars, TECHLUXE, by combining the latest technological innovation with all the trappings of a luxury vehicle. This idea is reflected in the new silicone leather inside, which is both technologically innovative and luxurious in appearance. The HiPhi X, which began nationwide deliveries in May this year, is already one of China's best-selling premium all-electric vehicles, trailing only the Porsche Taycan and exceeding the Mercedes-Benz EQC.
