FREMONT, CA: According to market research firm SNE Research, Global demand for electric vehicle (EV) batteries will far exceed supply starting in 2023. It is expected that EV battery manufacturers will be able to make a considerable profit four years later. A report from the Electric Vehicle Outlook 2017, Bloomberg New Energy Finance (July 2017) says, by 2040, electric vehicle sales are projected to represent more than half of all global, light-duty vehicles sales.

Booming market and evolution

Now the challenge has become more complicated because the demand for batteries is increasing to create electric vehicles. Some countries, like The International Energy Agency (IEA), said that the size of the global EV market would jump to 280 million units in 2030.
