FREMONT, CA: A global leader in edge AI technology, ONE Tech announced that auto manufacturers worldwide are reducing downtime and increasing the Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) of their assembly lines by over 15 percent using ONE Tech’s Helio and MicroAI technologies.

MicroAI, a sophisticated proprietary machine learning algorithm, which lives directly on a small IoT device or machine, offers automotive Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) deep insight into the health, behavior, and performance of their equipment or tools. For instance, robotic welding arms across automotive assembly lines. These manufacturers often face unforeseen downtime and fixed maintenance schedules, including unnecessary expenses and needless service hours. Lack of prominence into asset performance infers they can respond only when a problem shuts down a line.

In the interim, Helio is ONE Tech’s server that facilitates organizations to install MicroAI on multiple devices concurrently, enabling health data visualizations, performance benchmarking, field service workflows like work orders, and more. Helio combines disparate data sources into a single structure to drive unfathomable insights into units’ operations, such as planned versus actual cycle-times, machine and operator performance, utilization, signs of failure, and designs in downtime events, and others.

“Auto manufacturers have struggled with visibility into the health of their automated systems and, because of that, productivity on their assembly lines has suffered,” said ONE Tech CEO Yasser Khan. “With ONE Tech MicroAI and Helio, automotive OEMs can be less reactive and more predictive in regards to device and machine maintenance, making them more productive and profitable, and leading them down the path to Industry 4.0.”

In one particular use case, an auto manufacturer found that their robotic welding arms around an automotive assembly line were executing at a lower than expected OEE of 50 percent. Furthermore, the efficiency and uptime metrics were also not within acceptable levels, and the plant was leaving billable machine hours and production on the bench. Employing ONE Tech’s Helio and MicroAI, the firm’s OEE was increased to 80 percent along with additional benefits including:

• Less unanticipated downtime.

• Concentrated maintenance visits due to enhanced service schedule.

• Quicker identification and remediation of crucial machine problems leading to higher uptime.
