The acquisition broadens UL Solutions' automotive capabilities, allowing it to fulfill better the testing and certification needs of original equipment manufacturers and top-tier suppliers in the automotive industry.

UL Solutions, one of the global leaders in applied safety science, declared the acquisition of Data Test Labs. This Michigan-based firm specializes in environmental, electrical, and mechanical testing for automakers and their suppliers.

Data Test Labs, founded in 2017 by automotive industry veterans Michael Janssen and Alfredo Apolloni, respectively, as chief executive officer and chief engineer, and headquartered in Plymouth, Michigan, a Detroit suburb, focuses on vibration and electrical, environmental simulation, fluid, and ingress protection code testing.
