Eftelingjins forces with Eneco to open the largest charging station in the Benelux, a theme park that has added 60 charging stations for its visitors' car
FREMONT, CA: Efteling has opened the largest charging station in the Benelux, in collaboration with Eneco. The theme park in the south of Holland has introduced 60 charging stations for its visitor car park this week. When the park reopens, there will be a total of 87 charging stations, allowing 174 electric cars to charge at the same time.
Sustainability in their DNA
Efteling and Eneco have found each other in their sustainable ambitions. "Caring for the living environment and sustainability is in our DNA. Efteling aims to be climate-neutral by 2030. Creating these extra charge points fits in perfectly with this goal. I am very proud that we have the largest charging station in the Benelux!" says Fons Jurgens, CEO of Efteling. "At the moment, our gates are unfortunately still closed, but when we can, we want to open in a responsible way. As soon as Efteling opens again, many visitors will use the charging points."
Eneco charging stations use only 100 percent renewable energy sourced from European solar and wind farms.
A good step towards sustainable mobility
The two parties have been working together since 2019. Joris Laponder, CCO at Eneco eMobility, is pleased with this new step in the partnership: "Eneco and Efteling are meeting the growing need for charging facilities for electric cars. Visitors to Efteling can charge carefree during their visit. The charging points are therefore not only a sustainable investment, but also an extra service for Efteling visitors. The fact that we are able to establish this together is a really good step towards sustainable mobility".
More than 130 million tourists have spent an unforgettable day at Efteling in the south of Holland since its opening in 1952. Efteling has evolved into one of Europe's largest theme parks, complete with a unique fairytale setting, natural scenery, and a diverse selection of exciting attractions.
Eneco eMobility, a subsidiary of Eneco, provides electric charging solutions for home and work. It was established in 2007. Since March 2018, the division has operated as a separate entity under the Eneco umbrella.
